  • It probably would get worse if Whiteclay was dry. If they didn't go there they would load up and be driving to Chadron, Rushville, Gordon or some other town. At least they aren't taking as many people with them now by not driving 100 miles roundtrip crocked out of their mind.

  • Tortcuts. My town is that small. One school, my wife is a teacher/part time administrator. 1100 people in town. There was a day when I knew who lived in 90% of the houses, who their kids were, where they came from and where they worked. Much of the country is this way.

  • Another thing that is sick is how many kids are on free and reduced school lunch that come from families that have huge houses, new boats and eat out all the time. In a small town I know who they are.

  • Bingo Rvon. Why is this issue seemingly so hard to grasp. Why wouldn't you support the governments effort to prevent waste and fraud in the system. I'm not saying you shouldn't eat ice cream, but I am saying you shouldn't be using your emergency assistance funds for crap that won't help you.

  • People that are paying their own way should be able to eat whatever they want, whenever they want, wherever they want. People living on other peoples' dime should expect that the providers want a say in what we are paying for. I have no problem with helping the needy out with food stamps.

  • Here's my thought Ricko. There is no way to police the program without drawing a line somewhere. It is too bad that others' abuse affects you negatively.
